Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 8, 2026

UberMail (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use UberMail, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully. By using UberMail you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We use this to create and identify your UberMail account.

1.2 Gmail Data

UberMail accesses your Gmail messages and metadata (subject lines, sender/recipient addresses, timestamps, labels, and message bodies) solely to provide the service — reading, categorizing, labeling, archiving, and drafting replies on your behalf according to your rules. We do not store the full body of your emails on our servers beyond what is transiently required to process them. Processed metadata (sender, subject, date, action taken) is stored so we can show you an audit log of everything the app has done.

1.3 Usage Data

We collect basic telemetry about how you interact with the app — which features you use, error events, and performance metrics. This data is aggregated and does not include the content of your emails.

1.4 Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe may collect and retain payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account.
  • To connect to Gmail and perform the email-management actions you configure.
  • To display an audit log of actions taken on your behalf.
  • To send transactional emails (account alerts, subscription receipts). We do not send marketing email without your explicit consent.
  • To diagnose bugs, improve reliability, and develop new features.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use the content of your emails to train AI models, serve advertisements, build profiles for sale, or for any purpose other than operating the service for you.

3. Google API Data — Limited Use Disclosure

UberMail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We only access Gmail data to provide and improve the email-management features you have explicitly requested.
  • We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., passing message content to our AI inference provider to generate a draft reply).
  • We do not use Gmail data to serve advertisements.
  • We do not allow humans to read your email content unless you have explicitly given us permission to do so for support purposes, or we are legally required to.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

  • AI inference (Anthropic): Message content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate categorization decisions and draft replies. Anthropic does not use API-submitted data to train their models. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
  • Infrastructure providers: We use Amazon Web Services to host our backend. Data is stored in U.S. AWS regions.
  • Payment processing (Stripe): Subscription and billing data is handled by Stripe.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of UberMail, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If UberMail is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and audit logs for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer. Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive credentials (such as OAuth tokens), and access controls that limit who on our team can access production data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you of any breach affecting your personal data as required by applicable law.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Correction

You can review and update your account information within the app at any time.

7.2 Revoking Access

You can revoke UberMail's access to your Gmail account at any time through Google's security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access will stop UberMail from processing your email but will not automatically delete your account data.

7.3 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing privacy@ubermail.ai. We will process your request within 30 days.

7.4 California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email above.

7.5 EEA/UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your personal data is processed on the legal bases of contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (to improve the service and ensure security). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

UberMail is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of UberMail after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
